Tianyu Ren is currently a Ph.D. student in the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He began his academic journey in Naval Architecture, earning dual bachelor's degrees from Huazhong University of Science and Technology and the University of Southampton. He later pursued his master's degree in Mechanical Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University. Tianyu's primary research revolves around developing digital health maps for construction safety monitoring. When he isn't immersed in research, he has a passion for badminton and enjoys a range of other sports activities.
