Xiayu Zhao is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She received her bachelor’s degree in Architecture from Tianjin University in 2019. Xiayu earned her master's degree in Architecture from Tsinghua University, Beijing in 2021. After that, Xiayu worked as a Research Engineer at Tsinghua University until 2023. Xiayu’s research focuses on vision-language-based cyber-physical human-robot collaboration in construction. Beyond research, Xiayu enjoys playing indie games and hiking.
